Smoked Lobster Recipe

Cook Time: Approximately 45-60 Minutes

The crisp crack of a shell and the glossy sheen of butter mark the moment you decide to chow down on the sweet and tender meat of a lobster. Lobster, king of the sea, falls into the category of fine dining. These large crustaceans (the largest one ever caught being 44 pounds 6 ounces!) aren’t necessarily the cheapest seafood option, but they are undoubtedly the most delicious! Every now and then it’s ok to splurge a little. We want to make sure that when you do, you know exactly how to smoke your lobster to perfection on your updated MAK Grill by providing you with our smoked lobster recipe. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 1 whole fresh live lobster per person
  • 2 quarts of salted water
  • ¼ cup of melted butter per lobster
  • Lemon wedges

Pellet Recommendation: Alder Pellets

Preparation & Cooking

  1. On the stove, bring your salted water to a rolling boil.
  2. Drop the live lobster into a pot and cook for 3-5 minutes.
  3. Using tongs, carefully remove the lobster and place it on a baking sheet.
  4. With FlameZoneâ„¢ covers in place, start your MAK Grill and leave the setpoint temperature on SMOKE.
  5. Preheat your grill.
  6. Place lobsters on grill, close lid, and smoke for 45 minutes or until tender.

NOTE: Arrange lobsters on the grill so that they do not touch each other.

  1. Serve immediately with melted butter and lemon wedges.
